Exhibitions/achievements

Rachel Wade was born in Jamaica and started illustrating and painting at an early age. Having dual citizenship she moved to England to further her studies. She completed a first class Hons. B.A. Degree in Animation at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, Surrey England in 2004 and Returned to Jamaica to pursue her career as an illustrator, graphic designer, animator and painter.

Rachel’s work ranges from Illustrations to acrylic on canvas, She has exhibited in various
exhibitions across the Caribbean and Jamaica, and was awarded a gold medal and merits in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Exhibition in 2006. She was also first place winner in the inaugural Jamaica Digital Arts Festival 2007 and has completed illustrations for several children’s books.

She is part of the creative team at Sutherland Wade Associates a corporate Graphic Design company. Rachel is a freelance illustrator and Lectures part time at the Edna Manley College of the Visual Arts. She also offers art tutorials.
